In life as in art, I try to keep things simple. My home is mid-century modern with mid-century furniture, with clean lines, and minimal decor. My photography takes the same approach. I strive for a spare aesthetic, aiming for images that convey a clear and direct message, leaving no room for ambiguity.
To achieve this, I shoot "wide open" for a shallow depth of field, emphasizing focal points. Cropping is another tool I employ to draw attention to the core message of my photos. I sometimes incorporate Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) to evoke nostalgia, gently blurring pixels to infuse images with a softer quality.
My work aims to capture the magnificence of nature. I want viewers to not only see what I see but also feel a deep emotional connection when they look at my work. As our planet faces rapid decline, I hope my images inspire people to keep fighting for the beauty we still have.
