About the artist

My art is rooted in human emotion, particularly the inner lives of women, their strength, vulnerability, resilience, identity, and the stories that often remain unspoken. I began painting later in life, bringing to my work decades of experience, travel, cultural observation, and engagement with women and communities across different parts of the world. These experiences continue to shape the way I see the human face and the emotions it can carry.

Working primarily with figurative abstraction and elements of Cubism, I use fragmented faces, overlapping forms, expressive eyes, and symbolic imagery to explore the complexity of human experience. The eyes are especially important in my paintings. To me, they reveal what words often cannot: memory, pain, hope, dignity, fear, and resilience.
