Christopher Beckcom

My work explores geometric abstraction as a framework for emotional processing, memory, and personal transformation. Through precise geometry, repetition, and self-imposed constraints, I translate internal experience into a restrained visual language where structure becomes a vessel for feeling.

Although the compositions are ordered and architectural, they are rooted in vulnerability. Simple forms evolve into spatial conversations, creating tension between what is present and what is withheld. Negative space is not treated as absence, but as an active force, shaping perception from within and inviting the viewer into a slower, more contemplative way of seeing.

Influenced by my background in architecture and design, I am drawn to the relationship between form and void, discipline and emotion, restraint and release. Within these boundaries, the work becomes a quiet space where memory, perception, and intuition intersect. Rather than offering fixed narratives, each composition invites viewers to construct their own meanings, allowing personal experience to complete the work.

Ultimately, my practice asks how structure can give shape to what is difficult to articulate. Through geometry, I seek to create contemplative works that encourage prolonged looking, introspection, and meaningful connection, offering moments where the visible becomes a gateway to the unseen.
