Heejae Hong

I create contemporary paintings that explore the energy, rhythm, and hope found within urban life. My work combines simplified cityscapes with flowers, Korean white porcelain, cars, geometric forms, and vertical lines. Rather than using realistic perspective or dramatic shading, I express my artistic vision through vivid colors and flat, abstract forms. Through this visual language, I reinterpret familiar elements of the city as bright and positive images.

In my work, Korean white porcelain symbolizes a vessel filled with blessings and good fortune. The cities and flowers that appear within and around the porcelain represent abundance, vitality, and hope in life. My vertical lines symbolize positive energy, growth, and success. Through the harmony of color, line, and simplified form, I seek to convey blessings, hope, and positive energy.

By combining the traditional image of Korean white porcelain with the dynamic energy of the modern city, I create my own visual world where tradition and contemporary life coexist.
