Life is ever-moving, ever-changing, and we are constantly exposed to opposing forces both internally and externally (light and shadow, calm and chaos, yin and yang, push and pull, etc) which shape our existence. Opposing forces can coexist in harmony within and around us if we master the art of balancing them. But how can we achieve and maintain the state of perfect equilibrium? We often hear that balance is not something to find, it’s something to create, …but how do we create it?
This series serves as a reminder that reaching and staying in balance requires introspection, being in touch with our inner selves, and finding our center. Once we are truly in our center and in connection with ourselves, we are able to identify whether we need to rest or make effort, whether we should be active or passive, whether we need to go more inward or outward, whether we need silence or rather stimulation, whether we need jin or jang energy, etc. Sometimes we think we know what we need but that is actually not what we really need… We have to find our center first in order to access the clarity which allows the right answers to come.
We also shouldn’t forget that just like nature, our human experience is ever-changing and thus we have to keep moving and go with the flow of life. Balance is not a static state, but a dynamic process of continuous adjustment. Therefore this series also invites us to keep checking in with ourself and evaluate our own current idea of balance.
