To love and to be loved are the most beautiful aspects of being human.
They encompass the essence of our existence, they touch on the deepest emotions and connections we can experience. These connections bring meaning and purpose to our lives, offering us a sense of belonging and a deeper understanding of ourselves and others. When we love, we open our hearts to another, offering our care, compassion, and understanding. This act of giving love allows us to connect on a profound level, transcending the superficial barriers that often separate us. Loving someone allows us to step outside of ourselves, to care deeply for another person, to support them, and to share in their joys and sorrows. It’s an act of vulnerability and trust, where we give a part of ourselves to someone else, hoping to make their life better and richer for it. It’s through love that we express our truest selves, sharing our joys, sorrows, hopes, and dreams with another person. Being loved, in turn, is equally transformative. It means being seen, valued, and cherished for who we are, with all our strengths and imperfections. To be loved is to experience the warmth of acceptance and the comfort of knowing that we matter deeply to someone else. It fills us with a sense of belonging, security, and happiness that can’t be replicated by any other experience. Together, loving and being loved create a powerful cycle of giving and receiving that nourishes our souls, enriches our lives in ways nothing else can.
When we find our beloved, we experience that 1 + 1 > 2, because together we are more than we were separately. When we have each other, we have everything we need and more.
Although waiting for this (re)union can feel like eternity sometimes, it is essential to trust the timing of our life, everything happens for a reason and everything happens in the most perfect moment, not sooner, not later.
We must keep in mind that it all starts with believing deeply, without a doubt that the greatest, purest, most beautiful and uplifting, never ending love does exist, and that the person we are hoping to find is also searching for us. Then, it continues with becoming a whole alone already, being the energy, the love that we wish to experience with that person. If we are in the state of ‘need’, we will attract someone else, who resonates with that vibration, and that won’t result in an uplifting relationship. Even if our hearts had been broken into tiny pieces before, we have to heal and eventually open our hearts again for true love.
Reminding ourselves along the journey with the following two Rumi quotes can also be very helpful: “What you seek is seeking you.” and “Lovers don’t finally meet somewhere, they are in each other all along.”
May these wisdoms give you patience, hope and faith. May you find whoever you are looking for, and may your lives collide in the most beautiful way.
