Morgan Bok

My work is deeply inspired by living and working in Brooklyn, New York. This painting is my love letter to New York, a place that has pulled me away from California, where I was born and where my connection to nature first began.

That relationship with nature continues to be one of my greatest sources of inspiration.

I begin many of my paintings with my hands, using movement and energy to shape the paint. I build up layers to create depth, texture, and movement, often incorporating oil pastels, oil sticks, and ink.

I’ve always loved illustration, and weaving hand-drawn elements into each painting gives the work a sense of intimacy and authenticity that feels distinctly my own.
