About Nupur Jha
I am a self-taught Abstract Expressionist artist whose practice is rooted in intuition, gesture, and freedom. After two decades in banking, painting became both a release and a return to myself—a way to transform restlessness and anxiety into energy on canvas. I work primarily with acrylics, using palette knives, brushes, scrapers, and often unconventional tools from everyday life, surrendering to the first color and allowing the composition to evolve organically. My works are less about deliberate stories and more about releasing complexities, where layers of texture, form, and color reflect the contradictions and idiosyncrasies of life itself.
