Nikolás Garcia

My artistic practice consists of photographic creations based on the body as a means of spatial investigation, where performance and theater converge together with a natural space that determine a poetic visuality of introspection. In this way, photography appears in my work as a replica of the speed of postmodern life, which provides a veil of surreal nostalgia.

I am attracted to sensitive expressions of human corporality, at the same time that I exercise a critical factor towards them, in which photographic art as a universal expression is destroyed under a new analytical approach. Likewise, I am interested and intrigued by gender expressions, where photography operates in an artistic and sociological duality.

Through digital photography, the temporality of human expressions is exposed. At the same time, the strategic placement of the images evokes a look into the abyss of nihilistic thought, where acceptance and self-love are another viable possibility, but not free of vicissitudes in learning.
