Painting is the essence of my life, an unexplained necessity to express something that I feel or imagine. It is like a journey to the deeper layers of the self, under the banalities of the everyday. It is a silent melody played by colors. As Georgia O’Keeffe said, “I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn’t say any other way - things I had no words for.” My international journey brought me from Poland to France, and finally to the United States, where I was able to fulfill my dream of becoming an accomplished and fulfilled artist. I always create with music, mixing inspiring sounds with an image or vision of a painting. I let the music and the paint talk to each other and I feel like a reporter of this conversation, fully immersed in this flow. The painting’s vision evolves constantly as I work on the piece, until I feel satisfied with the result or too tired to continue. Another day might bring the solution. I play with photographs of works in progress, trying different angles, turning them upside down, zooming in and out, or using versions in different colors or in black and white. Very often it takes me months to finish the painting and I have several ongoing projects in my studio.
