I'm a retired dermatologist who has had a passion for photography for many years. In the same way I analyzed skin abnormalities by looking at lines, shapes, color, and patterns, I look at landscapes. I abide by the principle that less is more. As such, I aim to reduce the image to its essence. I take advantage of empty space, creating a dynamism that enhances the form. Although I often shoot in color, I find that many of my most powerful images are often in black and white. Monochrome, with its absence of color, is another approach I use to minimize the image, creating an intriguing level of abstraction. In my creations, the goal is to force the viewer to slow down and follow the forms, lines, shapes, and shadows.
