Mina Spiridonova

As an artist, I create my art. It's as simple as that – to share, pull out, explore, find, experiment, and provoke. It’s an itch; an endless battle of will, inspiration, and discipline. My emotions are visible, my fears understandable. Desires have shape, visions have color, and fantasies have a life of their own. Driven by my passion for sci-fi, anime, and the Asian culture, I create imaginary abstract worlds by combining text with improvisational paint application, such as stains, splashes, and dripping. Detail is crucial to me as are texture, composition, and balance. I paint exclusively alla prima. Once an idea forms in my mind I set it free and let it guide me through the process until it’s complete. I allow it to change and evolve on its own naturally, without any resistance. Art is about feelings and pure emotions that are beyond human comprehension. At the end it’s just me, sharing my personal drive, hoping for others to feel it too.
