My passion for photography allows me to capture special and intimate moments of reality. Once I have analyzed the pictures, I work patiently to transfer them onto the canvas. I invariably use oils and, generally, canvas, although I always explore different ways of painting. I paint urban and natural landscapes. Despite their differences, I try to see them in the same way through the use of light, color, and translucid elements. Many of my paintings are of New York – a city that has captivated me – especially its unique light, worn yet vivid textures, and the vegetation which so boldly invades its streets. Stairs and scaffolding are also an important element of my work; the chaotic and translucent patterns blur the worn buildings and bring light and hope for change as well as drawing us closer to the welcome natural chaos.
