I am an illustrator and fine artist creating works that take on critical views about contemporary life and the world around us. My work specifically deals with social, political, cultural issues and lifestyle subject matters. I combine various everyday life objects, scenes and situations from my memory and imagination. I then fuse these together to manufacture new and unexpected meaning. My work is meant to drive discussion and encourage viewers to be engaged; to see, appreciate, and learn something new about the world around them. Pain creates my artwork. The painful experiences that people go through as they journey through life in the world around us from childhood to adulthood can be full of chaos and hardship. This is what motivates me to make purposeful artwork that generates meaningful and fulfilling empathetic connections to viewers. As I observe and interpret the world around me through my artwork, I continuously discover that true beauty lies within darkness.
