Ripened by political turmoil, Mariana Sain-Morar’s work is a testament to the tenacity of the human spirit. Although her artistic expression was stifled under Communist rule in her home of Romania, her work breaks free from the chains of politics and human tragedy with a steadfast and purposeful technique. Sain-Morar’s work is most rewarding for the patient viewer. Multiple themes and images made more brilliant by mesmerizing hues are unveiled to the careful, determined eye. A combination of elements work together in the artist’s work to produce a masterful effect. The sanctity with which she paints her subjects, the layers of symbols within each piece and her inherent passion to educate and connect with the viewer are stunning to behold.
Mariana Sain-Morar has exhibited widely throughout the U.S. and Europe. Her works are in private collections in the U.S., England, France, Germany, Russia, Italy and Romania. She currently resides in San Diego.
